On 16–17 March 2017, lead­ing fig­ures in glob­al pol­i­tics will come togeth­er in Baku to dis­cuss the future of inter­na­tion­al rela­tions. The meet­ing will pro­vide a forum for cur­rent and for­mer Pres­i­dents, Prime Min­is­ters, Min­is­ters and experts to assess the state of the world, press­ing chal­lenges to glob­al gov­er­nance, and routes to the re-establishment inter­na­tional coop­er­a­tion.

Build­ing on the find­ings from the Baku Forum of 2016 and the High Lev­el Con­fer­ences organ­ised by the Niza­mi Gan­javi Inter­na­tion­al Cen­ter, the Fifth Glob­al Baku Forum will attempt to ini­ti­ate a glob­al dis­cus­sion and iden­tify the nec­es­sary steps to boost mod­er­a­tion, tol­er­ance and col­lab­o­ra­tion among world pow­ers.

Over 70 for­mer and cur­rent world lead­ers gath­er each year in Baku to dis­cuss issues of top pri­or­i­ty such as the rise of pop­ulism, the future of Russia-West rela­tions, the threat of rad­i­cal­i­sa­tion, the role of wom­en in peace lead­er­ship, or the use of ener­gy secu­ri­ty and inter-faith dia­logue as cat­a­lysts for peace.
