On 12–15 June 2016, international leading figures in global politics will gather for the VIII High-Level Meeting of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center to discuss and debate the social, political and economic challenges and opportunities posed by globalisation. The meeting, which will take place in Andorra, provides a space for current and former Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers and leading scholars and experts to engage with one of the most pressing global issues.
The meeting will build on the findings of the Baku Forum of 2016, which reviewed the challenges of an increasingly multipolar world and explored options to overcome them. Over 70 former and current world leaders gathered in Baku to discuss issues of top priority such as the future of Russia-West relations, the threat of radicalisation, he role of women in peace leadership, or the use of energy security and inter-faith dialogue as catalysts for peace.
The outcomes of the VIII High-Level Meeting — sub-titled “Global Forces, Local Voices” — will serve as a base for further summits by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, including the Fifth Baku Forum in 2017. It represents one element of an ongoing high-level dialogue process which brings together political and economic expertise and wisdom in the pursuit of uncovering innovative solutions for the good of mankind.
